Talk dirty

It couldn’t be simpler … one of the biggest turn-ons is talking dirty, and it’s also the best way to make everything – including using condoms and lube and telling your partner what you like – hotter! Sexy talk isn’t easy for many people, but with practice (and as you see the results – hotter, better, safer sex) it gets easier. Communicating with your partner is an important way to ensure you are satisfied, safe and turned-on. If you’re gonna talk, why not make it part of the fun with sexy words?

For example, here’s a tip from author and sex educator Carol Queen’s Exhibitionism for the Shy (Down There Press, 1995, available at www.goodvibes.com):
'…which invitation would you rather respond to? “You’re going to have to put a condom on that thing before we go any further” – or “Let me get a rubber on that hot cock of yours so you can slide it deep into my hungry cunt” (or whichever orifice is appropriate).'

Be a cyber slut
Write each other erotic emails before you meet. Tell you partner what you want to do and what you want him/her to do to you. Just writing it down can turn you on and then you’ll be ready for good hot sex (Courtesy of H, The UK).

Try phone sex
Get into the fun and say things you wouldn't normally dare (courtesy of the British participant at the Bangkok AIDS conference). And from those who know about talking dirty … here's a note from a frustrated long-distance lover:

'You know, long distance love is not the easiest thing around. We play games of photo truth or dare. I’ll dare him to take a picture of himself wearing his favourite article of clothing, and get back a picture of him wearing just socks! Or he’ll dare me to send a picture of my soapy nipples. For truths, he’ll have me take a picture of my favorite sex toy, or what I wore to bed last night and I’ll have him take a picture of where we’re going to have rocking sex the next time we’re together.' (Thanks to J from Nigeria, hope you two hook up soon)
