The basics

Safer sex is any sexual activity where bodily fluids don’t mingle, which reduces the risk of catching or spreading a sexually transmitted infection, such as HIV. Bodily fluids include:
• blood
• sperm (a.k.a. cum)
• vaginal fluids
• saliva

You can have rough, saucy or dirty sex, but don’t let bodily fluids get into the anus, vagina, mouth or open sores. Use a condom for any activities where this is likely to happen. Also, be careful of any sex that might cause bleeding – blood that passes into your partner’s mouth, vagina or arse could spread infection.

But don't worry! There are loads of fun, sexy, exciting things you can do that are very safe.
